I had the phone already. It was the phone I used on Rogers here in Canada before I got my RAZR V3. I kept it because I have a car kit for it, but it also makes a great phone to use for my T-Mobile SIM since it's dual band.

The SIM I got off eBay. I paid $5 for the SIM and about $7 for shipping (which is nuts because it cost less than a buck to mail ) but the total was fair and that's what I based my bid on. I got $29.80 in airtime credit with a mid-February expiry, and an area code 323 number (which I can change but I am not bothering). I got a $100 airtime card for it that I will put on the phone in February so that I get the one-year expiry and Gold Rewards.

PM me if you want my seller's eBay ID. You'll likely get a Los Angeles number too since he's in that area.

I use my T-Mobile SIM in an unlocked Rogers Nokia 6590i. Works fine.

I wish there was an established store (Newegg, Amazon, etc) that sold unlocked/unbranded cells at decent prices. As it is, eBay prices are easily $50+ below any other site.

Sure, as long as it is a GSM phone that supports both 850 and 1900 bands. This is actually what I intend to do.

    Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to buy a unlocked phone and use a prepaid sim card from t-mobile in it?

    Thanks!
