First of all, you need to cut the song. The song is suppose to be 18 seconds. No more than 18 seconds. Cut the song and make the lenght of the song be 18 seconds. Then you cut it, put it on your phone, and assign as ringtone.

I have found the way to put ringtones on an LG Xenon for calls only (not text message) and you can associate ringotones to your contacts

*** You will need a micro SD and a Micro SD card adapter (15$ value) ***

First of all Download ''Wavepad'' on Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Once that is done, open Wavepad and click open file. Then select the song you want (mp3 format preferrably) and cut your song at the place where you want the ringtone to BEGIN. Now, cut the song where you want your ringtone to END. (IMPORTANT: the Ringtone has to be shorter than 25 seconds) Once you're finished, save your cut song to your desktop using the ''Save File'' button but LOWER THE BITRATE to 96 (this shouldnt affect sound quality in any way).

Now it's time to insert your Micro SD into the SD adapter then the SD into ur computer and simply put your ringtone into the folder than remove the micro SD and put it in your cell phone. Now go to the menu then click My stuff then audio. From there, select your ringtone and click the option button (upper-right screen corner) and select ''Use as'' then you can select Ringtone or ID Ringtone (for specific contact)

So that's it hope thathelped! Leave me a reply if you found how to use it for text messages or if you have any questions!

I have the same phone, and i'm not able to find the "use as' option. But I've tried everything and the suggestions that was said. Nothing worked. Is there any other way to find the "use as" button for the ringtones?

You can use bluetooth to directly add it to the phone memory from your pc. Or you can add it to the memory card using USB and then move it to the phone memory.

It took many attempts but I succeeded this way: edit down your tone to 12 - 15 sec, export an mp3 file at 96 kbps bit rate to your sd card, the file should only be about 125kb total. Then, when you find the tone on the card, in the phone, you can choose the menu item "use as ringtone"

i use wavepad that i downloaded from download.com
and i'd edit a song to a ringtone length, save as mp3 but change the bitrate before i save it.
works for me. hope it helped anyone.

Whenever I put a ringtone (under 300kb) on my Xenon it doesn't show up under neither the Audio or the Music section. Full songs always show up under the Music section, so it's not like it can't read the memory card or something. Any reason for this?

You can't put ringtones over 300kb on your Xenon.

Apparently theres a hack for it now?? Beats me.

Well. Just make your ringtones a lower bitrate when you save the files. Thats really all you can do for now.

Did you get the problem fixed? The problem I'm having is I can not set a different ring tone for any callers. I can select the tone the phone says it is saved but the default still plays. Any ideas?

we just received the LG Xenon yesterday and still trying to figure the darn thing out. Lot more difficult than the phones I have had. I did bluetooth the ringtones I had on my phone to the Xenon and the book says you can use:

Windows player (10 or higher), need microSD card, USB data cable. Open Windows Music Player..Use the Cable to connect handset to PC...handset will display "Connecting as Music Sync", then it will read "Connected as Music Sync Mode. Do not disconnect during xfer and computer will show the LG device. From within Windows Media Player, click on Sync tab..If you have any previous songs downloaded they will be shown here. Choose the destination for the media files..Click start Sync button to download selected songs or ringtones"synchronization in progess" will appear.. Do not unplug while in process. Progress bar will disappear once complete. Once complete, unplug device and USB.

I'm trying to figure out how to assign the ringtones to the contacts. I keep getting No Data, whatever that means.
