I've heard something similar, that as long as the devices aren't turned on after they get wet they should be fine after drying.

I haven't had to experience it though.

It would be nice if more devices were waterproof or water resistant. I had a cell phone that was water resistant and it was nice because I wouldn't need to worry about it getting damaged or needing to let it dry if it got wet.

I have consumer cellular and they have a sim card that you can get to use in an AT & T phone and any GSM phones.
    Which I assume is AT & T.

There is also Viaero Wireless in Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska: as far as phones go there are quite a few you can look on ebay for "GSM Unlocked" phones or check out www.gsmarena.com to get reviews and specifications.

To specify: They DO NOT work (the SIM really isn't used) while a Verizon Wireless customer in the United States. The SIM Card in NO WAY links to the Verizon Wireless network.

Here is a list of devices that have a SIM Card with Verizon Wireless. Like I said, the SIM Card remains inactive in the US.

    Blackberry Tour
    HTC Ozone
    Blackberry 8830 World Edition
    Blackberry Storm
    Samsung Renown
Verizon Wireless USB 1000 World Modem
    Samsung Saga

Verizon Wireless phones do not have SIM Cards. That statement does currently hold true.

Yes, certain devices have SIM Cards...but they DO NOT work while in the United States. You could take the SIM Card out and be good to go while in the United States.

Try taking the SIM out of a GSM (AT&T) carrier and see what happens.

Most of Verizon's phone DO NOT have SIM Cards but the BlackBerry Storm does have a SIM Card and is a QUALCOMM 3G CDMA Phone.
