The way to do it is not illegal as far as I know.

You forward the call to a VOIP server, then manipulate the call data via a script to cut the first 3 digits from the number the ones which say don't transmit this caller ID (if you have ever with held your ID you have to dial 010 or something similar before dialing out), before redirecting the call back to a cell phone, which comes in showing the number. On iPhone there is the extra option of tracing where the call originated too....

Basically its all done with computers, and you need someone to set up a VOIP server for you. It's doable.

[QUOTE = Zarphor92; 1370399] I do not know exactly how, but I think that it is re-routing the incoming call to a different (and probably illegal) phone server, which then reroutes the call back her as an unlocked phone. There are sites out there that allow this, but due to the rules of the forum and legal reasons not list all URL's. [/ QUOTE]

mmm I have understood that this is only done through telecommunications companies and should pay for it because you can have a private number but is paid for and the only way to find out is to do legal paperwork or working in that company to access such information

I'm not sure exactly how it's done, but I believe it involves re-routing the incoming call to a different (and most likely illegal) phone server, which then re-routes the call back to your handset as an unblocked number. There are sites out there that allow this, but due to forum rules and legal reasons, I shan't be listing any URL's.

I'm suprised there isn't a way you can do this. I'm sure if there was something serious involved the police could check the calls

What if you want to know who is calling, sometimes it is a nuisance when you receive unnecessary phone calls, how would you know if it is a call you would expect and one which verbally abuses you..

This is not about the legallity of anything it is a technical aspect of it so please keep out any legall issues if you have in mind and please address the technical issue

    thanks,

How to show hidden caller ID which are calling into a phone. I saw someone demonstrate how to show hidden caller id's / private numbers.

How does he do that, is there a software to do that...

BTW he works for a locl telecom operator and doesn;t want to show how he does that technique... Even if I choose not to show my phone number by hidding it in my phone functions it still shows

    Anyone know of this method??

    Cheers.
