    the thing is that the phone number isnt what is in thier system and being tracked... it is the ESN number you find under the battery

    If your account is in good standing with sprint (i.e. you billing is current) you can sell it now without any activation problems.

    If your account is past due even though that phone and number is no longer activated with Sprint it still remains coded as a bad ESN.

    If in doubt call Sprint customer service for clarification, pretend you are a different customer and ask if your ESN # on this phone is clean.

    Are you absolutely sure? The same phone number that was on the phone is no longer with Sprint - the same exact number I had has been switched to Metro PCS. I still have an account with Sprint but the phone I had with them is no longer activated. In my case, the ESN is not clear and therefore, cannot be activated my another Sprint account holder?

    No, the phone will be useless untill your bill is paid in full, then it will have a "Clean ESN" and you can sell it!

    I owe $300 on my Sprint account. Right before they suspended my service, I signed up w/ Metro PCS and I switched over my old Sprint phone # to Metro PCS. If I give away my phone, will the new owner of the phone be able to activate the phone under their own account?
