I loved my BlackBerry Bold 9700 and cannot say anything bad about but it has been retired for more than two years now. Don't really miss it thanks to the 9900 and Q10 which I have used since .

basically all blackbeery phones are outstanding phone in our local market . Now a days you can fing there are millions of people using blackberry phones. And this blackberry Bold 9700 is most popular from all other phones in Blackberry this phone has a dynamic touch pad and keypad if a person is business man this phone is best for them as they can type as fast they want as if i talk about these days there are many people who love to write with the keypad which is allot different i mean each and every alphabet is at there place. Ivn touch screen phone you can type easily but some people are not very good in this for those this phone is perfect. And now lets talk about youngster they love chatting through phone and they want their must be comfortable for them to write a message.

The right-hand side of the phone holds the rubberised keys, which function as the up/down volume buttons and also as music navigation buttons for the media player. A similar rubberised option is further down the side, which functions as the camera shutter key.
Have the old BOLD 8900 like it for the push mail only and the easy keyboard. Looking to update to 3G for the speed. Considering the 9700 BUT How can this be a true 3G phone if there is no camera infront to do video calls? At least it seems that way.

This is a great phone. The trackpad (rather than the ball) is a great upgrade to the BlackBerry.

    Hi friend
I,m using black berry. On the first look, this will seem like your typical Blackberry phone: Slightly chunky, with that big QWERTY keyboard and pretty decent screen size. Until you actually get your hands on it, you won’t appreciate just how much work Blackberry have put in to slim this phone down.

It has had 6mm trimmed off the width, 5mm off the height and it is nearly a whole centimeter thinner than the previous Blackberry Bold. All of these cuts make it a real pleasure to hold, as the solid, nicely weighty feel you woiuld expect from a Blackberry has been retained, giving it a much more high-end and solid feel than its smartphone contemporaries.

The new size doesn’t mean a new look though, and the tried-and-tested Blackberry aesthetic is still there on the Bold 9700. Nothing has been changed because nothing needs to be. The Bold 9700 looks great, and the new slim design makes it even sexier, and could help it to appeal to more than just Blackberryphiles.

The slight redesign has come at a slight cost though, as the QWERTY keyboard on the Bold 9700 is slightly more cramped than on most Blackberrys. If you are used to the expansive Blackberry QWERTY keyboards, the Bold 9700′s may take a little getting used to, but as phone keyboards go, it is still extremely easy to use.

The Bold 9700 definitely feels like Blackberry are trying to keep up with the more competitive smartphone market, but I like the slight redesign a lot. Some people used to Blackberry’s might not be totally happy with it, but equally a lot of people who have never used a Blackberry before might be more drawn to the Bold 9700.
I well user this handset Thanks for nokia.

My bad, I was just joking around though. Appreciate the link.

All kidding aside, I'm aware that apps are available, however my question should have been more clear, how is the quality/usability compared to the iphone, I've seen a bunch on friends iphones and they are just endless, some good some bad some useless, but I don't really know anyone with a BlackBerry, so it would be nice to get some actual input rather than a warning from the internet police.

    Cheers!

    Hey every body
iam using this hand set i well .
Fast, very good battery life, clean interface, great messaging capabilities, physical keyboard, a 3G BlackBerry for T-Mobile (finally!), trackpad a great upgrade over trackball, GPS works well, great as a phone (most important)

Cons: Web browser (see below), smallish screen (but nice nonetheless), keyboard not as good as Curve, lack of apps compared to Android options

Summary: I really needed a new phone and was seriously shopping for one of the new Android phones, but all of them had at least one fatal flaw:

Droid: flat keyboard was hard to use, not a world phone
Hero: no keyboard, trackball (re: gunk)
Moment: bulky, poor battery life, keyboard .

I am glad I got a 9700 it was worth the wait. 3G is working well in the northern plain states.
