Hello. I am thinking of buying a Nokia e71 or Nokia e71x phone unlocked to be used with a SIM card. I only want to pay for SMS/texting and calling features, and don't want to pay for any data features. My questions are, will I be able to use the GPS feature without a data plan if I have a SIM card? Will I be able to use the GPS features without any SIM card?

I researched this a little bit from many places including the site:

which says that this phone has Standalone GPS
plus A-GPS / supports LBS

My problem is that I have read contradictory opinions on the issue. Some say that I need to pay for a data plan for the GPS to work, and others say I don't need a data plan. I want to be 100% sure that the phone's GPS will work with a SIM card with only SMS/texting and calling features or without a SIM card. Also, ideally I plan to take this phone (assuming I buy it), throughout the world, and would like to know if the GPS works worldwide.
