I appreciate all the tips listed above. Here's what I eventually got to work. This uses Outlook, so you'll need to set that up, if you haven't already. Download the Sony Ericsson PC Suite, if you don't already have that on your computer. Sync your contacts to your computer by opening Sony Ericsson PC Suite, click on Tools, click on Synchronization. Click on Contacts. Outlook will appear in the list next to My Computer/PC, if you have that set up. Click Start Sync and all your phone contacts will be entered into Outlook. Unplug Sony Ericsson phone from computer's USB port and plug in iPhone. Open iTunes with your new iPhone plugged in. (Also works with the Cloud.) Click on Devices. Click on Info. The top item is sync contacts. Check that box. Select Outlook from the list. Start sync and voila, all your contacts are on your phone. (Just FYI, I tried Phonecopy, and that didn't work with my Sony Ericsson c905a.) Hope this helps!

    Hi,

Thanks for the guidance. Unfortunately I cannot go further than step 2!

When I launch “Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0” and try to connect my cell phone (W550i) to it, it says “PC Companion was not able to connect the phone. Please disconnect and connect again.”

I have checked the USB cable and I have tried different USB ports, but I have got the same message.
    How can I connect it?

    Thank you in advance,
    Victoria.

    Download Sony Ericsson PC Suite
Launch the program and under Editors, click Contacts
Your contacts should upload to the PC suite

    next go to Tools >synchronisation.
Hopefully it will have an option to sync with windows contacts
    Press start sync
This will transfer your contacts to windows mail.

Connect your Ipod to your computer and open itunes.
Double click your Iphone icon on left bar.
Go to " info "on top bar and open
Tick sync with box, and select windows contacts
after sync is completed your contacts should appear in your iphone

hi there, thanks for this tutorial!

however, ive only managed to reach step 3...
when i try to enter step 4 into run, it wont work (somehow i dont have the 'users' folder on my C drive >_<)
even so, ive tried to find the syncML file thru program files, under sony ericsson pc suite, and bam! its there!

...but then i cant see a contacts.txt file....

i'm a XP user, but dont think its related to being a XP user or Vista user for this...

    do you have any ideas?

That's weird, I'm not sure if it makes any difference but I use windows vista ultimate when I did this.
