First, there's no reason NOT to get a EIN for your business even if as a sole proprietor you're not really an 'employer'. It's free and can be done online. It makes it a whole lot easier to "Do Business", get a Dun & Bradstreet listing, etc.

Second, are you sure you can even get a small business account with T-mobile? Maybe they've changed policies since then, but last time I inquired you needed a minimum order of 5 lines. Plus, business lines are generally more expensive. In my experience, the ONLY reason to want a business acount is so that the caller ID string on the other end shows up as the business name rather than your personal name.

Hello everyone. I have a few questions about the T-mobile small business plans for you guys. I'm a sole proprietor and I want to purchase a line on one of these plans. The problem is, I do not have the Federal Tax ID that they require for verification of the business because my business is associated with my Social Security Number instead (there is no need for a Federal Tax ID when you have no employees). So can anyone tell me if I can just give them my SSN rather than a Federal Tax ID when I'm signing up?

Also, does anyone know what hours the T-Mobile small business department works, and do they work on weekends? I heard that they close earlier than the regular departments. Thanks for any and all responses.
