Thanks for the info Kenith! I apologize, but the Motorola VU204 is only able to transfer pictures via picture messaging. Basic phones cannot be unlocked or jailbroken and changing the authorized software is not something VZW supports. The phone would need to be activated to send picture messages.

    Hi ^AE,

"The Motorola VU204 device was not designed to manually transfer photos via the computer, however you are able to transfer pictures under the Gallery on the phone."

Thanks for the information. Only problem is that the phone has been deactivated so only way I know to transfer the photos now is by USB cable which has not worked.

As posted when asked the question, did find on forum that Verizon makes the phone more restrictive (am guessing that it is part of keeping the phone from being used on another network?).

Am wondering if unlocking or jailbreaking would allow photo transfer by USB?

    Thanks again for your help!

    Kenith-

I know it's important to keep your photos in a nice, safe location! The Motorola VU204 device was not designed to manually transfer photos via the computer, however you are able to transfer pictures under the Gallery on the phone. After you select a photo in the album, go to options> send to> Picture Place. Once you've sent all pictures you want to 'Picture Place', login to vzw.c o m/myverizon (no spaces) to view the photos, and you can even save them to your computer! For all the details on Picture Place, check out: goo.gl/W6oAi. Keep me posted!

    Thanks

A friend has been trying to Transfer Photos from Motorola VU204 USB to PC. Everything tried so far has not worked.

I tried connecting the VU204 USB (cell phone off) to my Windows 7 PC and it was recognized and correct driver was DL and installed but it did not show up like a USB drive so unplugged everything and turned the cell phone on and reconnected still did not show up like a USB drive.

Did a search and found "Connecting VU204 via USB to computer" (Since this is my 1st post had to remove the link.)

Foucault posted "Well, Tony's tried, and it appears to be a Verizon issue. There probably is a way around it, if I understood some of what others have been through with other phones, and felt like being a pioneer, but I don't think it's worth the hassle to get some photos from a phone-cam. I'll stick to my digital camera."

purplegenes posted "It is a Verizon issue ... I own a VU204 and like many other posters here I cannot offload my pictures or even charge the phone from my computer via a USB cable. I ran into a Verizon employee the other day and started a conversation about the VU204 problems."

The VU204 will charge by my Windows 7 PC but as mentioned have not figured out how to transfer the photos.

Hope someone has some suggestions how to transfer the photos!!!

    Thanks

    Kenith
