Sync the Google Contacts to the iPhone
This is done from the iPhone, and will transfer the contacts from Google to the iPhone:

Open “Settings” then go to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and choose “Add Account”
Select “Other” and look under “Contacts” to choose “Add CardDav Account”
Enter the following details into the fields, then tap “Next”
    Server: google.com
    Password: your password
Syncing starts immediately, exit out of Settings and launch the “Contacts” app to check on the progress, the entire process may take a while for large address books

Actually, I don't recommend this way to transfer contacts to your iPhone. As we know, iPhone contacts list doesn't support group. If you need to group your contacts. It would be better use icloud or some third party tool like iphone-transfer-android.com/mobile-transfer/

The following is how to transfer your contacts (and calendar) from your android device to your new iPhone 4, 4s or 5.

NOTE: Your contacts should already be in your Google account since you've been using your Android device and have signed in with your Google username. If you haven't then go to menu > settings > accounts > add account > google and sign in while connected to wi-fi. Select options to sync your contacts

    1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed
    2. Connect your iPhone to the computer via the USB cable - iTunes should open
    3. From your devices list on iTunes, select the iPhone.
    4. In case you are syncing and backing up your data using iCloud, change that to using your PC.
    5. Then click on the Info tab.
    6. You’ll see a Sync Contacts with option, click on that and select either Google Address Book Contacts or Google Contacts.
    7. In the Google ID field -> enter your gmail address.
    8. In the Password field -> enter your password.
    9. Then click OK.
    10. Your iPhone will be synchronized.
