Performing a Factory Reset using Software:

In case you are experiencing issues with your device such as freezes or crashes, you may want to perform a master reset. WARNING! Performing a master reset will result in loss of all the data stored on your device, including contacts, 3rd party applications, pictures and more. Your device will be set to default settings.

    1. While viewing one of the home screens, press the "Menu" key on your device
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Under "Personal", tap "Backup & reset"
    4. Tap "Factory data reset"
    5. Read the warning and then tap "Reset phone". Optionally, you can also mark or unmark the "Erase SD card" checkbox. This will remove all the content saved on the SD card as well. Create backups if necessary.
    6. Tap "Erase everything" to confirm. Your device will automatically restart

    Perform a Hardware Factory Reset:

Assuming that you are experiencing major issues with your device, such as the inability to boot, then you might consider performing a master reset. Since you may not be able to boot up the handset to perform a software master reset, you will need to do so by using the hardware buttons. WARNING! Master resetting will erase all the data stored on your device.

    1. Turn off your device. (Note: if the device is frozen and won't turn off, remove the battery and insert it back in)
    2. Press and hold the "Volume down" button
    3. While keeping the "Volume down" key pressed, tap and hold the "Power key"
    4. Once the "Android system recovery" screen appears, release the "Power" button
    5. Use the "Volume down" key to scroll to and highlight "wipe data / factory reset"
    6. Press the "Power" key to select "wipe data / factory reset"
    7. Use the "Volume down" button to scroll to and highlight "Yes – delete all user data"
    8. Press the "Power" button to select the highlighted option
    9. When the wipe is complete, highlight "reboot system now" and then press the "Power" key to confirm

    Running a Diagnostic Test:

    1. Tap the "All apps" icon located on the home screen
    2. Select "Sprint Zone"
    3. Scroll to and then tap the "Help" tab
    4. If prompted, tap "OK" in the "Privacy Statement" screen
    5. Select "Dashboard"
    6. In the dashboard:

      • Green: Everything works as intended
      • Yellow: There may be some issues
      • Red: There is an issue

    7. If the "Voice" or "Data" tests are not successful, that usually means that you need to perform a profile update

    Updating Data Profile:

    1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key
    2. Select "System settings"
    3. Under "System", tap "System update"
    4. Tap "Update Profile"
    5. Press "OK"

    Clearing App Data:

Note: clearing app data will result in loss of all settings, high scores, user information and credit card information stored in the application. (Some applications may still store this data)

    1. While viewing a home screen, tap the "Menu" button on your device
    2. Select "Manage apps"
    3. Swipe to the "All" tab
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap "Clear data" and then press "OK" to confirm

    Clearing App Cache:

    1. While viewing one of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "Manage apps"
    3. Go to the "All" tab and then tap the desired application
    4. Scroll down and tap "Clear cache". Note: certain applications may not have the option of clearing the cache
