    Nowdays it's really easy. Now there are services out there like ParkMyPhone.com which can help you keep your phone number wherever you move in the US. It depends on coverage, but most of the country is covered. Check it with them, Im sure it will be no problem!

    ah i wasnt sure, i knew that when moving tmob offers area codes for free, but im not a CSR and not entirly familiar with the rules so i wasnt positive if the same number could be kept on an area code change

    Well...actually that is incorrect information. T-Mobile does not give out vanity (or requested) numbers out. All the numbers are randomnly selected based on the area code and availability of numbers. You wouldn't believe what people would ask for these days. Example - Guy called in wanting his birthday to be his phone number 725-1975. Get my point?
