The online update with the ESN will not work because that system will not accept anything but Boost ESNs. Call Boost Customer Care and do it that way. Best chance is after 8PM Eastern; if by chance you get a rep who won't do it, call back in 20 minutes and try again. No matter what they'll give you that standard rundown that the phone may/may not work and is not guaranteed and you will not receive any tech support. Tell them you understand and still want to do it. Word of advice: if you have a custom ROM already installed make sure you can get into the programming screens, if not flash a stock ROM before calling Boost.

Hey got my hands on a HTC touch 6900 for free. A friend let me have his old phone as he has upgraded.

I am presently on Boost with CDMA.

When I log on to boost site under "my account" there is a section "update handset" within that window there is an area to input ESN number.

    Will this work to activate?

I would hate call and DEAL with CS.

    Thank you

The actual boost website offer only nextel network but if you can find a phone like motorola W385 ( I get 2 w385 and activated this month ) you still can activate with the plan from sprint network (CDMA), check on boostmobiledotcom/activation/ on the right side on orange font color, what I was read you need first activite the plan with a boost compatible phone after you can call the customer service and change the ESN #, is a little difficult but can be done. Any way you have to find really good information because not all the sprint cell are compatible, I have a mogul model TITA100 and I ask a person and he say is full compatible , maybe your touch too.
Correction: the actual Boost Mobile site has a few Sprint phones, and does work with CDMA, not just PTT technology. My wife is with boost, and it's CDMA (I know, I bought the phone, and activated it). I'm on Sprint (more than 10 years now). Almost any current phone (with the exception of some of the higher tech smartphones) can be activated on Boost.

Boost's policy requires one to purchase a new Boost phone, to begin their account activation, however, if your phone is lost/stolen/drowned/etc, you can buy a used Sprint phone off eBay, & activate it on Boost. Further, a Federal judge last year has ruled; a provider cannot lock a phone on their network, after contract... and a provider cannot refuse your phone, if it's from another provider, (they can use the excuse that they don't support the phone, if they don't carry it (but that's fine, if you know your phone), it's YOUR phone, and it can be used on any compatible network, so, it should be possible to activate a verizon phone on boost as well.

Hey there HTC Trekker! i saw your post, and thought i would ask.

I have an HTC Touch Pro on Boost, and it works fine.
I bought two broken ones, and put them together and i now have a second, fully functional HTC Touch Pro. I'd like to hack it to work on Boost as well, AND i'd like to change the ESN so that i can keep it as a spare, in case something happens to my first one.

Do you have any ideas on that?

Also, i would love the instructions to set it up for Boost. If i cant do an ESN change on the phone, then i may just activate it for my daughter.

I'm looking to do this swap, but I think I may have a problem. Right now I have a Boost branded BB 8330, and the BB $60 plan. When I went to sprint and created an account, it wouldn't take my number. It didn't say it didn't recognize the number(like when I added a 1) it instead said "Sorry! We can't show you information related to this phone on sprint.com. You can still create a username and password for use on our Community." I have read people having this problem after sprint changed something with their website. I am wondering if something really did change, or if they just don't like my Boost BlackBerry and the $60 plan. Has anyone done this recently on a regular $50 plan and phone like the Mirro?
    Thanks,
