if you want to transfer contacts from android to iphone, you can use a phone to phone transfer to do that, like the below guide:

Transfer Contacts from HTC to iPhone 5/4s/4/3GS

transfer contacts from Samsung to iPhone 4/4s/5

it's easy to do this job.

just use the phone to phone transfer, with it you can try contacts, text messages, photos, video, audio, documents etc from android to iphone, like the below article:
    transfer htc sms to iphone
    transfer samsung sms to iphone

First, make sure you've set up your e-mail account on your new iPhone. Then, back on your computer, send yourself an e-mail with the VCF file as an attachment. Open that e-mail on your iPhone and tap the attachment, located at the bottom of the message. At the top, tap "Add all contacts." Your contacts will be saved to your iPhone.

Actually, I don't recommend this way to transfer contacts to your iPhone. As we know, iPhone contacts list doesn't support group. If you need to group your contacts. It would be better use icloud or some third party tool like iphone-transfer-android.com/mobile-transfer/

The following is how to transfer your contacts (and calendar) from your android device to your new iPhone 4, 4s or 5.

NOTE: Your contacts should already be in your Google account since you've been using your Android device and have signed in with your Google username. If you haven't then go to menu > settings > accounts > add account > google and sign in while connected to wi-fi. Select options to sync your contacts

    1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed
    2. Connect your iPhone to the computer via the USB cable - iTunes should open
    3. From your devices list on iTunes, select the iPhone.
    4. In case you are syncing and backing up your data using iCloud, change that to using your PC.
    5. Then click on the Info tab.
    6. You’ll see a Sync Contacts with option, click on that and select either Google Address Book Contacts or Google Contacts.
    7. In the Google ID field -> enter your gmail address.
    8. In the Password field -> enter your password.
    9. Then click OK.
    10. Your iPhone will be synchronized.
