i95cl camera How do you get to work

I just spent an hour in the nextel dealership, they cant figure out how to get the camera to work for the i95cl. And IDEN says it doesnt work with the i95cl.

What do i need to get it to work on my i95cl ?

if you already have the camera you need to download the software...i think i have it somewhere,but your also gonna need a data cable

ohh yeah? I just upgraded my software from 85.01.00 to 85.01.05.

Im not very familiar at all with downgrading software, i think i read somewhere that i had to downgrade to 85.01.02. Im pretty good with computers but do you think im getting in over my head with this?

Im gonna buy a data cable monday, do you think i should get usb or serial?

serial cable is a little more pricey but well worth it.believe me the usb is junk!get the cable and i'll send you the camera software.do you have webjal???if not your gonna need that also

BTW if you get webjal you won't need to downgrade your phones software

if he wants the camera software he'll have to downgrade...which shouldn't be a problem if a backup was made from the initial upgrade. just restore the original software and then run the i95 camera upgrade utility, it will automatically upgrade you to .02 software. personally, it may not be worth your time with the i860 coming out later this year but you should be able to get the cam to work for the 95! good luck

Ok, yeah i will get the serial cable then, its only 5 bucks more.

- I already have the camera and i just bought my i95cl so i cant afford to buy the new nextels that are coming out. Im pretty happy with what i have. But thanks for the suggestion.

I had my upgrade done at the nextel dealer. So i dont know where i would find a back up. and Idenupdate.com only has the newest software version available i think.

you'll need an spf patcher...search on howardforums for that and you'll need a hex editor to patch the idenupdate file to downgrade to any software you want to for an i95. if you need help pm me. actually the easiest way to start this is to find out what CP version you have (#* menu > , Unit Info, CP Ver). if you have a 1a.0a/19.00 CP this will not work and you'll have to contact Nexvision at nextelmodz.com to make any of this work! good luck tho!

Should i just forget about getting the camera to work then?

Will i still be able to upload ringtones, and java apps, and wallpapers free with WebJal, or cant i because of my software?

oh sure...wallpapers and ringtones, etc all will work fine...the problem is there's really no way to get the camera to work on a 1a.0a CP. many have tried tho. you'd have to pay nexvision at nextelmodz.com to change your CP for you...i think it's like $20 or 30.

Nope. Doesn't work that way.

You need to change the structure of the CP not
hex edit a line of code.
