anyone have a link to a good program that I can use to shorten songs for use as ringtones (free program that is)

I used Audacity from SourcFORGE. It's a pretty decent editing tool and it's free. Many times I only like certain parts of the song and not just the very beginning. This program will allow you to cut out sections in the beginning, middle or end at any length.

i have a question. is the program you're talking about the one i would need if i wanted to make custom ring tones and put them on my phone through the data cable? and is there also a program u would recommend for making pallettes and wallpapers? preciate the help if you can give it to me

well personally I use Paint shop Pro to do all my graphics editing and as for the programs debonext listed those are only used to actually create the ringtones not to load them onto your phone, for that you would need webjal.
