Hello I have been up all day and night trying to transfer music files from my computer to my cell phone (i730). Can someone please help me out? Any info will be greatly appreciated. I have the USB cord but I don't know what to do with it.

what kind of sound files are you trying to tranfer to your 730 keep in mind that it will not accept .mp3 files... there is a program out there call myjal that you can use to send wallpaper and j2m programs to your phone... also if you goto iden.com there are some free programs on that site that will let you download phonebooks, upload them and edit them and save them for later use.. i mean you can do a lot of things with your 730 just not mp3 files

    cheers

you want to use webjal to download your ringtones, java application and wallpapers to your phone. your i730 will only accept wav and midi ringtones. you want to go with the wav. there is a large selection at www.wirelessmatt.com and you can get webjal at www.teknidude.com/wap/webjal.html.

I use MyJal to get the wallpapers to my i730 but when I do ringtones (which are PROPERLY encoded : wav PCM 8 kHZ 8bit) I get General Communication Error. On the creator's website gomyteam.com in FAQ they explain this error as incorrectly formatted file, but I am sure it is correctly formatted. What could be the problem?

    Thank you!

you need to plug in the usb drive that came with the phone. when the window opens drag your mp3 songs over to it. then rename the songs to something smaller(right click it and choose rename) lower the name to under 12 digits. Your done. And no you can not assign ringtones from the sd card. You still need webjal to load the ringtones.

you can buy the drive did your's come with the sd adaptor

I can get the drive for $17 (nextel sells it @ $24.99). The adaptor is tougher, it looks like it only comes with a new transflash card. So you would need to buy another card. I can get the 64 meg card and adaptor $29, 128 meg for $39, and 256 meg for $45. The 128 is on back order it says until Monday. The rest I have.

Here is pics of both http://harrythompson.com/demo/img/transflash.GIF &
