Newbie needs help with I730

Hopefully you guys can offer me some help. I had an I95cl and just bought an I730 from someone with the sim card in it. I put my sim card from the I95 in the 730 and its working. My questions or problems are...

1)The disco light doesnt work. It is turned on in the setting and Im using the stock ringtone. It may be broke, but could it be because Im using a 32k sim card and not the 64k sim card the phone is supposed to use?

2)Ive heard you can assign ringtones to individual contacts. When I go to rintones, it doesnt give an option to assign it to a contact, just line 1, line 2 etc.

3) is it true you can assign pictures to the contacts?

By the way, this is Nextel service, not Boost.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

the i730 supports a 64 k sim card. so if youh use the 32. it may not be able to read the sim card. suggestions are to switch the 32 k sim to a 64 k sim if youh want to continue with the features

Thaks for the suggestion. Im assuming I have to call Nextel and have them move my service from the 32k sim card to the 6t4k sim card, correct?

youh can do that or go to the nextel store and tell them youh want to change the sim card to a 64 k. they will register youh a new sim card on the 64 k model and transfer everything on ur old sim to the new sim. then youh place the sim into the new phone and it should be able to do the procedures youh need.

This is false. The i730 will read the 32k sim just fine. The only problem is that you only have 250 contacts instead of 600.

disco lights could be turned off possibly in the codeplug but it's not likely, like u said it may be broke...they will only work with midi ringers.

you can assign contacts but you do need to have a 64k sim to do so.

pics can only be assigned on an 860.

It's strange cause I can c0mmunicate witht he phone using webjal so I dont know whats up. I guess Im S.O.L. Thanks for all your help though rdmiller.

Ok, I finally got things fixed and Im able to get my codeplug, what exactly am I looking for now?

Also is there any guide as to what all the stuff in the codeplug is, or instructions on how to make changes or mods to the code plug. Another words, how to go about adding things like american dialing and stuff like that.
