can i keep same phone but change providers??

MY father is on a T mobile plan with samsung phone...I want to bring him on to my Nextel account, is there a way to do this and let him keep his samsung phone...he's 75 and doesn't want to get use to a new phone.

Like stated before, This isnt possible. This is because of the networks. Nextel is iDEN, T-Mobile is GSM.
