You probably have to check the box "Outgoing server requires authentication" If all the other settings are right and the box is checked, maybe your ISP doesn't allow smtp access off their network.

I can send regular text messages on the i 930 it says i have to be on gsm mode to do so
i spoke with customer care and they said u have to send it via media messages

Yes its the same way for everyone! Sprint "SAYS" it is a regular text message that way as long as you do not insert a pic or something, then it becomes multi media!

Has anybody downloaded the software from the Handango site that allows you to use IM. I was wondering if it works and if you can download it to the phone. I know the phone is locked so I was curious to know if it works. They don't list the i930 on their site as a smartphone (yet) so it is hard to know. I tired to contact them but that seems difficult also.

I called Sprint again yesterday and FINALLY got in touch with someone who had sense. He told me to take my phone to a service center and let them look at when. I drove dayum near an hour to the nearest center and the lady told me "you would bring me a phone I have never seen b4! How did you even get one?" She also said she was NOT authorized to open it because there was no i930s in the Houston area for them to be trained on.

BUT the up side to this whole situation is I found out what is wrong with my phone and why my battery drains within 4 standby hours. I also found out how to stop the drainage and my battery now last the way its suppose to. If anyone is having a prob with their battery after sending a text message, send me an IM and If you are having the same prob I am, then ill show you how to stop the issue/ That why you can put up with your phone until the new batch comes off back order and get it swapped out!

It was up the day i posted it. I even called Nextel at 7am to see if they had any in stock to do my swap-out and the rep said yes! Today its gone again. WTF

My pocket pc on t-mobile runs windows pocket pc 2003 software which is very close to the smart phone software. It will not let me send a sms with an attachment. It says I have to send it as an email. So I have to use the email side and the person's phone's email address (the mobile phone number @messaging.nextel.com).

Check with the microsoft website. I am sure it is a flaw with windows and not going to be worked out with Nextel. The fastest way to make it to the windows mobile webpage is www.pocketpc.com

The i870 is out today its on the site

I just recieved my i870, it is great. I live near the Dayton OH area in a small town. Our local Nextel dealer claims he has 10 to 15 i930's sitting on his shelf waiting for new owners. He claims that you just hve to know how to order, and i did see one in his store. So if anyone is interested I can post his phone number so anyone who wants can contact him.

i also live in dayton and i got mine from the new nextel store in englewood, the store at the dayton mall told me they didnt have any today, cause i broke my flip already and the repair store down there just took a flip off a new phone cause they didnt have any parts so who knows

That is service center is NUTS!!! Look at how much the flip costs a service center

nextel will just exchange the flip on a monthly basis and then pay the service center $20 if you have the maintance plan. How long before the service center makes a profit??
