I have been told already that it is not capable of adding a picture to your contacts. Second what messaging/data plan would you recommend.....or have purchased? I was thinking about adding one to my account but can't decide what to do. Other than the first problem that I have noted the only other problem I have had so far was that I wasn't able to get texts in the beginning. Had to call customer support and they took care of it. That is all.....for now.
There is a program called photo contact 2.0 I think you can add photos to contacts with that program.

I was wondering the same thing about AIM. I signed up for a data pack and figured it might be part of that but noooooo. Another problem I am having is that when I use the internet I can't get past the menu page. It says its finding the site and it times out and says the page can not be found. There has been nothing easy about this phone. Nothing has worked correctly the first time without some sort of help. I am starting to get pissed.

Ok remain calm.....I wanted to launch mine into the wall with this. Take your sim card out of your old phone and put it in your 930. Go to Sim manager and there will be a menu optiion to copy your contacts from your sim to your phone....do that. Once that is done turn off your phone and put your new Sim back in. Turn on and you can do one of two things. You can leave your contacts on your phone as they are now.....or you can go back to Sim manager and copy you contacts from your phone back onto your Sim....there is another menu option to do that. The i930 stores your contacts on your phone by default not on the Sim....you have to store them yourself on the Sim if you want to. Thats it......now can somebody please tell me if you can get AIM on this freakin thing......and why my internet pages won't load???

I ordered my i930 by phone on 10/6 and received it on 10/10. I've been using it for a week and a half now and it has been great. The internet worked right away and I use it for more that the wireless web sites. I use it to view traditional web pages too like for yellow pages listings and it works great.

I set up my e-mail accounts and it works but it doesn't always seem to automatically check for e-mail and alert me of new messages, so I have to check manually a lot.

I also copied some mp3 and wmv files from my PC and used Windows Media Player on the phone to play them. The quality is good. For video, wmv files are the only ones I could get to work. I copied some word and excel files to the phone and they couldn't be opened, but if I e-mailed the same files to myself, the phone then could open them.

I don't think AIM is available for this phone but I'm not totally sure as I don't use IM.

The camera quality is better than the i860 but is not great.

One feature I like a lot is that now you don't have to open the flip to do a PTT Alert. Just push the speaker button then PTT and it Alerts.

Something I don't like is the external LCD doesn't stay on, so I have to push a button to see the time. This must be to conserve the battery as battery life is the worst of any Nextel phone I've had.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this phone.

Boogerred, after charging my battery all night, i went to work this morning and sent about 7 text to my wife. Work starts at 630a and by 9a my battery was dead! WTF.
I dont think you can get AIM. I cant use my WAP yahoo messenger anymore, along with MatchMobile and a few other items i used on NOL (nextel online)
I hate how your contacts are stored also!

Ok so I have been on tech support for an hour....the wait period is outragous buy they were helpful. There is a separate number for the i930....1-866-677-4614. Don't bother calling the regular number because they will only tranfer you. I found out a few things. One there is a separate internet plan for the i930. Its not something you need to know but if your internet is not working the tech staff signed you up for the wrong one and you have to call them and change it....thats what they did to me. Second you CANNOT download ringtones or wallpaper from the Nextel site....you gotta make your own....have fun. Aim is not available from Nextel for this phone....the tech staff advised me to go to handango.com or smartphone.com....apparently they have applications that you can download for aim. If anyone is interested in picture contacts he also gave me a site for that....pocketx.net. Again all of this stuff cost money but if you want it these are the sites to get it. Below is something he emailed me about how to make your own ringtones and wallpaper. I hope all of this helps some people....I have been going crazy. Have a good one.

* Plug i930 into the usb cable

* Open My Computer and open Mobile Device

* Click My Smartphone

* Click the Storage folder

* Open up the Application data

* Open up the Sounds folder

* Drag the Ringtone you want in the folder

Assigning a Ringtone for the i930

* On your i930 go to Start

* Settings

* Notifications

* Ringtone line 1

* Scroll to the Ringtone you want

Wallpaper

* Plug i930 into the usb cable
* Open My Computer and open Mobile Device
* Click My Smartphone
* Click the My Documents
* Drag the Wallpaper you want in the folder

Assigning a Wallpaper for the i930

* On your i930 go to Start
* Settings
*Display settings
*Internal wallpaper
* Scroll to the wallpaper you want

I agree with you Risadd, every last one of those ring tones suck. I tried to drag a file over like the guy up above said but it didnt work.

I also hate that when toggling between the things in the display menu, you have to back out each time just to see what the wall paper looks like1
