I wanted to purchase a Nextel or boost cellphone in the United States. I was either looking at purchasing the Motorola I870 or I 875. I know this questions had probably been asked a lot but can I use the Nextel I870 or Boost I875 on the Telus network?? If so what do I have to do in order to have it work?? Thanks.

isn't Telus a CDMA provider? Nextel uses iDEN technology which is completely different from CDMA and the phones are not compatible on each others' networks.

This is why Sprint and Nextel's merger is going to require a huge overhaul of their networks... I have read that Nextel is going to go to CDMA by 2008, but in the meantime their phones are not compatible with your CDMA provider.

the best thing you could do is call Telus and ask them if they can activate another provider's CDMA phone, and that will give you more phones to choose from right there. good luck!
