Sprint tells me that I can now call "most nextel and boost users" for free because i have mobile-to-mobile in my plan. When asked what they mean by "most" they explain that a "small branch" of Nextel chose to remain a separate company and didn't merge with Sprint.

Is this a nationwide division, or are they localized in one area? I would like to know where "Nextel Partners" exists so I know if I am calling one of these people or not. Are they a pretty big group or not?

    Thanks to anyone who knows...

thanks for the reply... i typed my zip into their coverage thingy and it said...

Unable to process your order. Out of Service Area.

We apologize for the inconvenience, however we currently do not provide service in your desired zip code. Please visit Nextel.com for further assistance with activating Nextel service in your area.

I would assume that means you will be out of area here, but not sure. As far as 'housings' you mean for your phone? I buy all my accessories and things on ebay because they are either overpriced in the stores or hard to find what you want. Around here a lot of convenience stores carry phone accessories, and little independently owned cellular stores are a dime a dozen.

Also, if you are going to be down here and getting charged extra to use your phone, maybe think about a boost phone just for while you are down here which is $1.50/day for the walkie-talkie feature, that is if it would be cheaper than whatever they would charge you for being out of their primary coverage area.

Nextel Partners is the Provider for nextel service here in Iowa. I would love to be a Nextel Communications customer, but I want nothing to do with Nextel Partners. Nextel Partners is reason I am using Boost.

I hope someday Sprint tells "Partners" to take a hike.
