my previous thread was closed for some unknown reason, probably because of some trash posts earlier by a newbie abusing the points system. (don't do that, it's not nice )

i have only gotten one serious answer to this question so far, and i am sure it's on a lot of people's minds. also, i have another question about "Nextel Partners" if anybody knows...

First to clarify a fact before I present this question, Nextel and Sprint use different technologies, Nextel uses iDEN and Sprint uses CDMA, so the company merger could not have affected service for Sprint or Nextel users since they already used separate and independent towers that do not and cannot roam on each other. (This was falsely proposed earlier by the aforementioned trash-poster.)

MY QUESTION is: Has the merger affected service for Nextel users in the "Nextel Partners" service area, and has Nextel Partners retained ownership of any Nextel towers in their service areas? One more, do Nextel users now roam on 'partners' towers and vice versa?

Please only serious posts, I appreciate anyone who knows the answer.

No, The merger has NOT affected the service. Recently, Sprint purchased Partners, So its all one big company. And as a few side notes: iDEN phones cannot roam on CDMA networks. Also, Nextel Partners was a division of Nextel that allowed Areas that are not native covered areas to be on the Nextel network.

And about your other thread. It was closed due to threadcrapping. Now, first time this thread gets crapped, It will be closed and the threadcrapper will be banned for 72 hours.

i apologize if i have done something to offend you, i am afraid i don't know what threadcrapping is. i have not broken any forum rules to the best of my knowledge, but if i have, i would appreciate someone explaining it to me clearly without the use of ambiguous slangwords.

i thought this was a legitimate and reasonable question to present, since a week or two ago, sprint told me on the phone i could not call 'partners' in my mobile-to-mobile plan but they wouldnt clarify exactly who 'partners' was.

i did also state "...the company merger could not have affected service for Sprint or Nextel users since they already used separate and independent towers that do not and cannot roam on each other...." and this was done to clarify that i know iDEN and CDMA cannot roam on each other, you must have misunderstood me in a previous post if you thought I stated anything to the contrary.

i am glad that the whole thing was straightened out, but i feel like there is some hostility in the nextel forum, and i will stay out of your territory from now on. still, i would like to know what threadcrapping is so i can avoid it in the future, and there is no explanation for it in the FAQ. Also, the CPF search only turned up 3 times including tonight of that term having ever been used here, and 2 of those were by you, and in none of the three times it was used was there ever an explanation of what it means.

You didnt do anything wrong, the posters in the other thread were the ones that lead to the thread closure. And threadcrapping is what you called "junk posting".

Where I live is a Nextel Partners area. (South Central Pennsylvania) And I haven't noticed anything change in my service since the merger.

The only thing I hate about being under Nextel Partners is that sometimes, not always, when I call Nextel customer service for any reason or to make changes to my account, they sometimes get confused cause I am under Partners and not Nextel Communications. So sometimes they tell me I have to call another number and all this bull crap. Well that hasn't happened lately, and here's why... recently the account holder changed from my dad to me cause I get a corporate discount with my employer. So now my name is on the account and I found out a special 800 number I can call to get special assistance because I'm considered a "Corporate Account". Pretty cool Also I get special discounts on phone and plan purchases, so I guess it makes sense for a different 800 number. Haven't had to call the corporate line yet.

Ok, enough rambling, and getting off the subject. Later.
