Nextel Insurance

Can someone tell me if you must purchase insurance for your Nextel phone at the time of purchase or if it can be added later. I heard that one cannot purchase insurance if the phone has been owned for a certain period of time. You would think they would sell you the insurance and the worst case would be have a wait period before you can put in a claim. Oh well, my next phone may be a pay as you go phone as the carriers are beginning to milk the consumers wallet! Hmm, sort of like the cable company. Thanks ahead of time for any replies that I may receive.

You can add insurece at anytime, as long as you are not an ASL customer
