Yes it worked. Sprint could just do this without all the crap, but they are choosing not to.
Anyway, when I finally got a emei and a
sim, I called and they then wanted to change my plan. I blew up assuming that they wanted a new contract, etc. However, the supervisor took care of it. She did in fact have to give me a Nextel account, but did so with no complications. She knew why I wanted the Nextel switch. I then called Boost and they moved the number from Nextel.
It took 3 or 4 hours for the Boost phone to work after the switch, but it's fine now. Just be patient.
I got my emei and
sim number from someone on my unversity's computer listserv. You don't need the actuall phone and
sim, just the numbers.
