Excellent info! I didn't try the buttons etc. But, it did look cool. He must have ripped it off from some other provider.....

Hey - "Ifpnk0" what is your real first name?

Also, have you heard anything about a Nextel i960? I'm just curious since there was an i830, then three months later there was a much better i860.... I'm just guessing, but it would make sense that there was an i960 in the works - perhaps with bluetooth??? One can only hope. :-)

One can only hope... I havn't heard anything about an i960, so I don't know if one will be released or what features it will have.

Personally I would like to see some voice recognition software that would be compatible with the 2way messaging. It would be a lot easier to say what you have to say and then have the phone type and send your message. The closest thing I know of that they have now records your voice and sends a mp3 file, but you can't send it to another phone - it has to go to an email address.

correction: if you and the person you are sending to both have i860's they should be able to listen to it

now i think things are getting a little crazy. you want have voice text messaging. I am the only one who has not forgotten that we are talking about a phone. why don't you just use it as one and call the person.

Where's the fun in that? Besides there are times when you can't be in the middle of a telephone conversation ... my job doesn't mind if I email back and forth all day, but they'll reprimand me if I am on a personal call while I am supposed to be working.

But that's just me, I'm one of those people that can't wait for XML and hopes that an implantable PDA will be on the market someday before I die

    Hey 1Badss,

Nice grammar - no wonder you like to stick to talking on the phone.

Hey Ifpnk0 - good point back to 1Badss - you can IM and post all day at work without getting busted like you would with chatting it up all day on your cell phone.

I'm thinking that someday we will have contact lenses that are little display screens so we can use the implanted PDA / cell phone. Of course the cell phone will be a small implant inside our ear canal and it will be voice activated. Step aside Ray Bradbury!!!

Have a cold one and a good one!

    Hi,

You're not on topic with our i930 thread.

But, in response - who knows? If you feel good about the trade, then do it, but on the other hand, if you are doubting, then forget it.

    That's easy.....

I noticed on the Nextel website that they have the Blackberry with Bluetooth on sale! The other model is just $99 bucks. The i860 is still the showcased phone.

To me this is an indicator that the i930 is close, but probably in late January or mid February.

    What do you think?

Are there any Nextel insiders wishing to drop a hint?

    Late,

    Eric

the reason the old blackberry price dropped is because the new one came out and they need to get ride of them because as of Jan 1st all nextel phones sold have to have GPS in them. this is no reflection on when the i930 will be out

I was talking about the new one, the 7520 which is priced at $299, but they are having a $100 trade-in sale with that model.

    Anyways... just speculating.

I talked to a friend of mine that is a manager at the main Nextel store where I live, he said he went to an expo for the nextel managment across the US and he seen both the i930 and an i960

He stated the the 930 would be a flip phone running MS software and the 960 would not be a flip phone but raher a touch screen phone, that doesn't flip open, I wasn't clear on what he ment, but the i960 will be out, and it will be some sort of touch screen with blutooth, and MS compatiable software.

This from a good friend that wouldn't lie to me! he even advised me to not get the 860's being that I have a i95, he said just wait it would be all worth it?

No he didn't get any pics, but he did say it was basically the same size as the i860, but If I run into him again I will try and get a better discription of the i960.
