Clearing the Mobile Browser Cache

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Internet Explorer tile.
  2. Then touch the More icon -> scroll down to and touch settings -> tap delete history and touch delete to confirm.

Clearing the Mobile Browser Cookies

  1. From the Start screen, tap the Internet Explorer tile.
  2. Then touch the More icon -> scroll down to and touch settings -> touch delete history -> then tap delete to confirm.

Clearing the Mobile Browser History

  1. Just like in the case of clearing mobile browser cache and clearing browser history, you need to go to the Start screen, tap the Internet Explorer tile.
  2. Touch the More icon -> scroll down to and touch settings -> delete history and touch delete to confirm

Opening a New Browser Window or Closing One

  1. From any browser window, tap the More icon -> then touch tabs.
  2. Then you have one of the following options available:

    • To open a new browser window, touch the Add icon located at the bottom of the screen.
    • To close a browser window, touch the Close icon located in the upper-right corner of the thumbnail.

Turning On, Set, or Turning Off the Data Usage Indicator

  1. From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
  2. Then touch Data Sense.
  3. To set up the application, touch yes (note: the set up prompt will only appear the first time you access Data Sense).
  4. Then touch the Limit type field and select one of the following options:

    • To turn on the general indicator -> touch None specified.
    • To turn on a specific indicator, touch One time or Monthly.
    • To turn off the indicator, touch Unlimited.

  5. When finished editing these settings, tap the Check mark icon.

Viewing How Much Data a Certain Apps is Using

  1. Go to the Start screen and tap the screen and slide left.
  2. Then touch Data sense -> tap the screen and slide left to view the usage screen.
  3. You will then view a list of applications sorted from largest to smallest amount of data usage.

Turning Background Data On/Off

  1. From the Start screen, tap the screen and slide left.
  2. Then scroll down to and tap Settings -> tap the screen and slide left to view the applications screen.
  3. Touch background tasks and select the application you want to edit.
  4. You have the following options available:

    • To turn off background data, touch block to turn off.
    • To turn on background data, select the Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it check box.

  5. Finally, launch the app to turn on background data.

Adding or Editing Apps and Accounts to Sync

  1. From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
  2. Then scroll down to and tap Settings -> touch backup and select the following sync categories to edit or turn on as desired: app list + setting, text messages or photos.
