Opening a New Browser Window or Closing One
- From any browser window, tap the More icon -> then touch tabs.
- Then you have one of the following options available:
- To open a new browser window, touch the Add icon located at the bottom of the screen.
- To close a browser window, touch the Close icon located in the upper-right corner of the thumbnail.
Turning On, Set, or Turning Off the Data Usage Indicator
- From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
- Then touch Data Sense.
- To set up the application, touch yes (note: the set up prompt will only appear the first time you access Data Sense).
- Then touch the Limit type field and select one of the following options:
- To turn on the general indicator -> touch None specified.
- To turn on a specific indicator, touch One time or Monthly.
- To turn off the indicator, touch Unlimited.
- When finished editing these settings, tap the Check mark icon.
Viewing How Much Data a Certain Apps is Using
- Go to the Start screen and tap the screen and slide left.
- Then touch Data sense -> tap the screen and slide left to view the usage screen.
- You will then view a list of applications sorted from largest to smallest amount of data usage.
Turning Background Data On/Off
- From the Start screen, tap the screen and slide left.
- Then scroll down to and tap Settings -> tap the screen and slide left to view the applications screen.
- Touch background tasks and select the application you want to edit.
- You have the following options available:
- To turn off background data, touch block to turn off.
- To turn on background data, select the Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it check box.
- Finally, launch the app to turn on background data.
Adding or Editing Apps and Accounts to Sync
- From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
- Then scroll down to and tap Settings -> touch backup and select the following sync categories to edit or turn on as desired: app list + setting, text messages or photos.
