Contact Management

Adding a New Contact:

  1. Tap "People" and swipe to contacts
  2. Tap the "+" sign
  3. In case you are signed in to multiple accounts, select the account on which the contact should be saved
  4. Enter the contact details, phone number, name etc.
  5. Tap "Save"

Adding a Contact to Speed Dial:

  1. Tap "People" and swipe to "Contacts"
  2. Select the contact you wish to add to speed dialing
  3. Tap and hold the contact's phone number
  4. Tap "add to speed dial"

Copying Contacts from the SIM Card to the Phone Storage:

  1. Make sure the desired SIM card is inserted
  2. Tap "People"
  3. Tap the "…" icon and select "Settings" > "import from SIM"
  4. To import all the contacts, tap "Import"
  5. Tap "Clear" to select individual contacts, and mark the check boxes associated with the contacts you wish to import

Copying Contacts via Bluetooth:

Using the "Transfer my Data" function you can copy contacts, text, messages and pictures from your older phone via Bluetooth. To do so:

  1. Make sure your old smartphone offers Bluetooth connectivity
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your old smartphone and make the device visible
  3. On the Lumia 635's Start screen, swipe left and tap "Transfer my Data"
  4. Tap "Continue" and enable "Bluetooth" if necessary
  5. From the list of found devices, select your old phone and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process

Linking Contacts:

NOTE: If you have separate entries of the same contact (say one copy comes from an email account and the other from a social network), you can link these accounts together so the information is centralized into one single contact card. To link contacts:

  1. Tap "Phone" and swipe to "Contacts"
  2. Select the main contact you wish to link
  3. Tap the "Link" icon and tap "Choose a contact"
  4. Select the contact you wish to link

Unlinking Contacts:

  1. Tap "People"
  2. Swipe to "Contacts"
  3. Select the main contact you wish to unlink
  4. Tap the "Unlink" icon

Deleting Contacts:

  1. From "People", swipe to contacts
  2. Select the contact you wish to remove
  3. Tap "…" and then tap "Delete"

Managing Caller Groups

Creating a Caller Group:

  1. Tap the "People" tile while on the Start screen
  2. Below "Groups", tap the "+" sign
  3. Tap "Group" and enter the desired name for the group
  4. Tap the "Save" icon at the bottom and tap "+"
  5. Add people to the new group

Adding Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

  1. Tap the "People" tile from the Start screen
  2. Tap and hold the group you wish to edit
  3. Tap "Members" and then tap "+"
  4. Select the contacts you wish to add
  5. Tap the "Check mark" icon
  6. Repeat with any other members that you may want to add to the group
