How-to: Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual: Transfer and Set Custom Ringtones & Notification Sounds

Transfer Audio Files From a PC:

1. Connect the phone to the desktop PC or Mac computer via USB
2. On the computer, follow one of the two links below to download and install:
   
   • “Windows Phone app for desktop” or
   • “Windows Phone app for Mac”
3. After the install you can use the app to transfer audio files from your computer to your Lumia 540 Dual

Change the Phone’s Ringtone:

1. Swipe the Start screen left to reach the “Apps” menu
2. Swipe down and tap “Settings”
3. Tap “ringtones + sounds”
4. Optionally, tap the “Vibrate” switch to enable this option for ringtones
5. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone for the phone

Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

1. Tap the “People” tile from the Start screen
2. Select the desired contact and tap the “edit” icon shaped like a pencil
3. Swipe down and tap “+ ringtone”
4. Tap the desired ringtone and press “Save” to set it

Change the Notification Sound:

1. Swipe the Start screen left to access the “Apps” list
2. Go to “Settings”
3. Tap “notifications + actions”
4. From here you can select to change the notification sound settings for quick actions, applications, and action center
