Tips & Tricks to Manage RAM Usage:
- Keep your applications up to date
- Uninstall third party apps you don’t use
- Monitor the RAM usage of your newly installed apps
- Clear app cache / data
- Clear your recent applications from time to time
- Restart your phone regularly by pressing and holding the “Power” button
Check the Amount of ROM and SD Card Storage:
- From the Start screen, swipe down
- Tap “All settings”
- Swipe to and tap “storage sense"
- Tap “Phone” or “SD Card” and check the values
Change the Default Storage Location:
NOTE: By default your phone will use the internal memory as the primary storage location for apps, downloaded content etc. You can change this option as follows:
- Swipe the Start screen down
- Access “All settings"
- Swipe to and tap “storage sense”
- Select to change the default storage location from “phone” to “SD card” (or vice versa if applicable)
Format the SD Card:
WARNING! When formatting the SD card you will lose all data stored on it. If necessary, back up your data before proceeding.
- Swipe the Start screen left
- Scroll to and tap “Settings”
- Tap “storage sense” and select “SD card”
- Tap “format SD card” and tap “Yes” to confirm
Transfer Files between the Lumia 540 Dual’s SD or Internal Storage and a PC or Mac:
- In order to be able and transfer files between the Lumia 540 Dual and your computer, you will need one of these two applications:
- On a Mac, visit this link to download “Windows Phone app for Mac”
- On a Windows machine, click this link to download” Windows Phone app for desktop”
- Install the application, launch it, and follow the on-screen steps to transfer your data between the phone and computer
