Back Up Settings:
- Swipe the Start screen left
- Scroll to and tap “Settings”
- Tap “backup” > “app list + settings”
- Tap “Settings backup” to enable the feature
- Sign in to your Microsoft account if necessary
- Tap “back up now” > “continue”
NOTE: the backup process can take several minutes to complete
Back Up Applications:
- Swipe the Start screen left and tap “Settings”
- Tap “backup” > “app list + settings”
- Enable the “App backup” switch
- If necessary, login with your Microsoft account
- Tap “back up now” > “continue”
Back Up Text Messages:
- Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Scroll to and tap “backup”
- Tap “text messages”
- Tap the “Text message backup” switch to enable the feature
Back Up Photos and Videos:
- From the “Settings” menu, swipe to and tap “backup”
- Tap “photos + videos”
- Choose the desired setting to upload your media files to OneDrive:
- For Photos you can choose:
- “Good quality (may use data plan)”
- “Best quality (needs Wi-Fi)"
- “Don’t upload”
- For videos you can select:
- “Best quality”
- “Don’t upload”
- For Photos you can choose:
Restore Applications, Data, and Settings:
- After backing up your data, reboot your phone
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network
- Follow the on-screen prompts
- At the “Restore phone” pop-up, ensure that “Windows Phone” is selected
- Tap “Next”
- Wait for the phone to restore the data. Once the percentage shows 100%, tap “Next”
- From the “Almost done…” screen, tap “Next”
- Optionally, enable “Nokia Improvement Program” and tap “Next”
- Your data should now be fully restored
