    i jus got the bow wow my baby polyphonic ringtone and it only plays the bassline and the kicks of the song? ive got a nokia 7250i

    it might be the midi file you downloaded it may have been edited that way or that only what will be played. did you get it for this site. i will download it and see i have the same phone.

    yooo does it only play tha bassline and the kicks on the phone...or does it only play that when u play the real midi on a media player? cuz u cant play all midis on cell phones some cellys can only play a certain amount of tones...i got a nokia 3586i and not all tha midi ringtones i get i can play...only certain that the pc suite will read....

    7250i is a 4chord midi device (it can only play 4 instruments at once) therefore it would miss bits out if the midi file is made of more instruments i think all series40 nokias apart form the 3300 which is 24chord are 4 chord the best think to do is look for midis made for nokias as some ppl just post standard midi files which can be too complicated for your phone

    it sounds like it is a standard midi file, as opposed to a sp-midi file.

    a sp-midi file has a priority number for each instrument in the midi, so it can be played back on 4-note or 16-24 note polyphony phones. if they are made poorly then they will not sound good on 4-note phones. i have found however, that a sp-midi file with a large amount of channels will not open on a 4-note phone - even though it should.

    a standard midi file will almost never work on a 4-note phone and if it does it will most likely sound terrible as it will only play a few channels, even if they are short/low volume/part of the song.
