    hi all,
my nokia 6230 stopped recognizing sim cards recently, and my contacts are on the phone itself and not on the sim card. i got a new sim card and a loaner phone so i can talk and everything, but my phone has none of the 150+ contacts that i had on it -- and i really need to retrieve them. so, since my 6230 works as if there were no sim card in it ("please insert sim card"), is there any way for me to get into the phone and even see my contacts? i'd write them all down. i'll buy the connection cable if that would work, but i don't know if my phone would begin to transfer them over since it thinks it has no sim card. does anyone know how to hack into a phone? anything? does anyone know anyone in new york city who can hack into a cell phone? i'm kind of desperate.

    thanks

If data is on the phone then you can use any sim card to start the phone and retreive the data

.....the problem is though that it recognizes no sim card. if you put any card in, it says "insert sim card" because it doesn't recognize it period.

    Hi,
It sounds like you have a bad sim card cradle ( the bit you put your sim card into), try clean the connectors, if that doesnt work buy a new sim card cradle, they dont cost much and are very easy to fit.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there is no way to get at it unless you have the sim card in.
