i've heared something on the news about viruses that can infect your phone through bluetooth if it is activated..and they didn't say anything about recieving any files...just walkin at less then 10 meters from someone with an infected phone...Personally..i think it's all big bulls***..but i'd rather hear some more oppinions...

Well there are programs that do that, but most of the newer bluetooth enabled phones, do not auto accept files, contacts or bluetooth pairings, when they are sent via BT.

When I get messages or contacts in say a mall, I just refuse them, note the name, scan for them and send them a note back saying.. "I see you can play with your phone, that's nice, so can I. btw nice shoes!"

Most of the time I never see the person, but I know if they send a note back in response, then they are still fairly close by.

Only if your phone uses an OS that can actually get infected.

Can't even load antivirus software on my cell phone, unless it comes in Java.

    Howdy Nox,

Symbian or not, guess it's not really something non OS phones, need to worry about anyway for the most part, unless there comes a virus that can infect phones without the user doing anything more than answering a phone call.

Oh wait, that's a story in a book!

    Re: Bluetooth Viruses

when i was in asia, my cousin's 7650 was affected via bluetooth, the phone's battery would drain like crazy. They said that she was affected by the Cabir virus. there was an outbreak in the philippines from 2004-2005. Lots of people were crazy over fast bluetooth file sharing because "college scandal videos" were popular and every university had its own video. Mobile video on the go!
