I've recently been having problems with my Nokia 6300 which I got a few months ago. I'm running on Windows Vista and suddenly after installing the latest version of PC suite from the Nokia site niether my phone or laptop picks up the USB cable meaning I cannot transfer files from PC to phone or vice versa.

If anyone has any ideas on how to overcome this problem it would be much appreciated.

If you're just transfering files, you might just want to use a card reader.

But it the phone or laptop isn't picking up the USB cable??

What?! I don't understand your question?? I'm talking about using a card reader. Have all your files saved onto the Micro SD card, use the card reader, and have the files transferred over to your PC...
