    Hello, first post here.

I have a nokia 6600 and wanted to know if I can use this phone in Fort Worth, TX area.

It is the type that uses a sim card.

Are there providers in TX that use pre-paid service & the sim chip?

    Thanks in advance,

    Cell Mate

good phone! i have the same phone, have your phone unlock and your not only using it to TX. once you have it unlock, you can use that phone anywhere in the world. just buy the prepaid sim of the country that you going too and your ready to good.

LOL, well in that case, I'm good to go.

I bought the phone (2 actually) while I was stationed in bahrain. I've already used it in the Philippines and Guam with sim cards purchased locally and it works just fine.

All phones bought in bahrain and like that. You buy the phone, buy the sim card and the pre-paid air time and that's it.

So now the question is, who has the best service?

So far I've received an e-mail from T-mobile telling me that I would need to have it "unlocked". I wasn't sure what that meant till I read your post.

Thanks for the all the info guys. I'll be in the U.S. at the end of Feb and hopefully I'll have no problems with these phones.

im sure your phone is unlocked if you use that to guam and phil.
here in u.s you have only 2 service provider for your phone.
    at&t or t-mobile.
if you do alot of texting you might as well use t-mobile.
t-mobile charge 10cents per send local, long distance, international. incoming text is just 5cents.
at&t charge 15cent per send to local, long distance and 25cents to international. incoming txt is 15cents per recieved.
