Hi,
I have a serious problem for which i am not able to find the solution. If some one knows please help me.
I bought Nokia E70 from US and I am from India. And its frequency band is 850/1800/1900.
I liked the phone very much but in our country most of the network's frequencies are 900/1800/1900 and thus most of the network sim's are not working in that phone. I want to somehow use that phone very much. But i cant buy another phone since this phone is little costly.
I tried for help in net but i am not able to find how to change my phone's frequency band??
If someone knows how to do modification of change of frequency please let me know.
Regards
Anil B

Re: Is this Possible? Changing of frequency band
Forget it. There is no way to change the frequencies with software. The parts are called "filters" and they are hardware components. I have read about being done on cheaper Nokia phones, but not on the E70.
Google "gsmhosting forum" and you may find more info there.

Re: Is this Possible? Changing of frequency band
Hi Guys,
Thanks for trying to provide me some solution.
@Gsmbuzz, Could you let me know where can i get the Zaf software? and any other requirements for that software?? If there are any links please provide me, that will be valuable.
@zhzubair, Hi could you let me know the procedure to change the rpl file, where it wil be located or something like that. Since i have never changed rpl file or dont know how to do them. Previously i used only NSS once. Could you provide me any link to detailed procedure??
Once i will give a try on my mobile and will let you know the results.

Re: Is this Possible? Changing of frequency band
I suggest you sign up at forum.gsmhosting.com and ask the question there. You should be able to find JAF als.You mess with the RPL you mess up the phone, including IMEI. You gotta understand, that unless your radio has the FM channel, you won't be listening to FM stations just by changing a piece of software.

And what bands did you change on it? It is already a quadband phone.Last edited by Gsmbuzz; 05-13-2010 at 07:04 AM.
