I bought my Nokia from South Africa it is made in India I used it in South Africa Namibia and Zimbabwe under different network providers and I can not use it here in Canada it is just not picking the networks is it possible to fix that kind of a problem

I presume that the phone is unlocked that's why you were able to use it with different networks before. The location/area plays a major role in reception quality. First you have to know which carrier has the best signal/reception in your area and if you have another phone that gets good signal from the same network, the problem is then with the phone
