N97- Buttons wont work since phone got wet

My beloved n97 went swimming in my fish pond I retrieved it immediately however once I had done all the drying tips etc, it turns on but cant use it as touch screen and buttons wont work
I was wondering if Metho would do the same as the rubbing alchol and also does anyone know if hard resetting it may fix this or is it doomed?
