Here is my problem: On my AT&T Nokia 920 WP8, I have about 140 songs saved. All of which "over time" I purchased and downloaded from Marketplace.
Upon connecting my 920 to my Windows 7 desktop PC, I then sent each of those music files to my PC. No problem and each song file is there and saved in my PC in "my documents."
Of course all these songs are still on my Phone and play from my phone with no problem.

Upon simply trying to play any of this music on my PC, I get some error banner that tells me the selected music files can not be run or played because of some codec issue.
These are all just basic MP3 music tracks in my PC. Yet I can not play them with my PC, much less burn them to playable CD disk. I've never had a problem with playing MP3 downloaded music on my PC using simple Windows Media Player, but these tracks from my phone it will not play or even understand.

This makes no logical sense and if by chance Microsoft has over looked the simple fact that Windows phone users should be able to download MP3 from their WP to their PC for play and burn, then I can see why people would turn away from WP8 and stay with their iphone. I took a chance and released myself from iphone. Until now my WP for me has blown away my i4s, but this is a huge downer and since music on my phone and PC is high priority I am questioning my leap away from Apple iphone. This one major thing is destroying my pride in ditching iphone forever.

There MUST be a solution to this. If anyone knows PLEASE tell me what to do.
    Thanks.

I had de-installed Zune a month a go because it would not recognize or sync with my 920. My sync seems to work fine without zune. The MP3 files move to my PC no problem. My windows 7 PC just will not play them. As if my PC does not recognize them.

(I am shocked that 59 Nokia users have read this thread I posted about music PC play back files from 920 phone and your the only one to reply or have an idea. Logic would say I'm not the only Nokia 920 user that has experienced this problem.) Very strange.

I believe Zune handles the DRM protection, which is probably why they won't play on WMP. I would try re-installing it.
