Verizon Treo 700P - Password Protection

Hello everyone - although I joined this forum several months ago, this is my first post.

I am scheduled for a new phone from Verizon next week under the "new every two years" plan. I currently have an LG VX8100 phone, and also have to use my Sony Clie for contact information, schedule and personal information (which is password protected in the Clie). The Clie syncs to Outlook on my computer. This would allow me to get rid of the Clie, and have all of my information on the 700P.

My question is this: Does the Treo 700P have the capability to password protect the Memo area, so that I at least have some protection should someone else gain access to my phone? I know that the phone itself can probably be locked, but then that just complicates general phone usage. If you have any other feedback on the "goodness" or "badness" of the 700P, that would be helpful also.

There is a way to lock the device that will require a password to access the device. It's kind of annoying at times, especially when you are trying to do things. There's also a "mask" feature, but I'm inexperienced with it (To think that I've had Treos for 2 years now and don't know what the mask feature does...). As to the 700p in specific, I've had mine for about a week or so, and when it works, it works pretty well. The only issue I've had with mine is a hardware issue with the backlight where the backlight will randomly go dim. Also, there are rumors going around that the 755p is supposed to be released on Verizon any day now......any day..
