I am trying out a Moto E815. so far so good but I have a question about
using a ringtone.
I am sure I have done this with other Moto phones but I can't figure this
one out.
I sent an mp3 ringtone to my E815 via my [email protected]. The phone
received it fine and it plays fine under "sounds" but for the life of me I
can't figure out how to make it my ringtone. I went through all the menu's
and I cannot find such an option. If I go to settings>ringstyle>detail the
file I sent to the phone does not appear there, just the stock ringtones.
I find the file in media gallery>sounds but I can't find or figure out what
option to use to apply it as my ringtone.
What I am doing wrong?
Thanks as always!!

found what seems to have been the problem.
I sent the same file to the phone again but changed it to a .mid file. When
I got the option to save it this time I also got the option to apply as a
ringtone.
When I sent it to the phone as a .mp3 file I just got the option to store
only and no option to save as a ringtone.

Re: E815 Ringtone Question
Curious about this and would love to hear other experiences. I have E815
and have been able to transfer tunes (via email to vzwpix.com) to my phone
as .mp3 files. I have NOT had to change the file extension to .mid.
I read the file from my inbox and press the menu button, then choose save
item, then file. Once the tune starts to play press the menu button again
and I have the option of store or apply as ringtone. With either choice the
file goes to the Media Gallery and can be used as a ringtone.
One caveat, my .mp3 transfers are all 30 seconds in length. I have read
elsewhere that longer files won't work. Try Walmart.com/Music/CD
Store/Listen and download all the samples you want...they have quite a few
to choose from.
