How are Text Messages Counted? (non-vision subscriber)

Hello Group -

I've been a spcs customer for about 5 years. Recently I purchased a
Sanyo 8100 (based on the things I've read here - and appreciate the
discussion - very good phone). I renewed my agreement and added vision
to get the rebate. So, here's the question:

I've noticed that the email messages I receive (I am fully aware that
I cannot send any and really don't need to) to my
[email protected] have been counted as "wireless web
messages". Since I do not want vision anymore (not that useful to me)
will the text messages I receive after cancelling vision be charged to
my monthly bill?

I suspect that if someone "txts" me I will get charged, but I am
wondering about the "[email protected]" messages I
recieve - like emails, and pre-arranged notices that send an email
from a server if an event occurs.

I have read some things here about it being free even if you don't
have vision, but am wanting to confirm that - with the rollout of SMS
it is still the same.

Those messages don't bill as SMS. Yes, they are unlimited for Vision=20
phones.

Was that a yes ???, one will be billed for receiving text messages when
they dont have vision?

I took O/Siris' response to mean that I won't be billed at all for
receiving unlimited messages. As a non-vision subscriber using a
vision phone. Correct O/Siris?

I think that is not correct.

If you have no vision or wireless web service at all and someone sends
you a message it will cost you a ridiculous amount to read it. You
can ignore it and not be charged. Or else it will not arrive at all.
I think it used to not arrive at all but I believe that changed.

But I would like to hear an official response.

Interesting what can happen when one actually *reads* a post.

Correct. Vision phones do not get charged for those=20
"[email protected]" messages.

Osirius twisted the answer only saying vision users wouldn't be charged.

So Vision phones get free text messages even if they are not paying
for Vision service? That's kind of nice. That would be a reason to
get a Vision phone even if you don't want/need Vision service.

So where do NON-Vision phones fall? If someone sends a text message
to [email protected] to my NON-Vision phone does it arrive?
Does it cost me to retrieve it?

Or does it just go nowhere which is what used to happen. I subscribe
to no wireless web either.
