Hello
I've searched the forum but can't find the answer to my question and
wonder if anyone could help please.
I have seen a Motorola i880 for sale in the US. I would love to get
this handset, but the ad says Nextel only.
As I am in the UK, if I purchased this phone is there any way I could
use it here? Would putting and O2, Orange, T-Mobile sim card in work?
Would I need to get it unlocked first? Is it possible to unlock this
phone for use in the UK? Is it compatable with UK providers?
Apologies if I sound really stupid - I usually just go out and buy a
handset, but this is something a bit more unusual.
Part of me thinks it SHOULD be possible as phones bought in the UK are
quad-band and should work in the US - but am I over simplifying things?
Thanks in advance for your help.
As I'm a first time poster - and I realise that I'm asking for help
straight away - please be gentle!
Regards.

That phone will not work in the uk. Different technology. Cingular and
tmobile phones with appropriate bands will work.

Dennis and mrcamp - Thanks for taking the time to reply. Your help is
much appreciated and it's saved me a few quid 'trying it to see if it
works'!
Love the look of the phone - it's a real pity we don't get that design
over here.
Thanks again!
