I must say that i feel sorry for all of those who brought the Iphone, they will be dissapointed when the Iphone 2 comes out and they dont have the money to buy it since they spent money on their one iphone...When it does happen the Iphone should plummet in price so the resell value would be minimal...

I feel sorry for those who bought the Iphone too...mainly because they paid for a brilliant, easy to use Interface, mp3 player and phone but sacrificed everything else. (good camera, video, user created ringtones ($0), 3rd party apps, a tactile keyboard...etc)

The release for the iPhone 2 will be in Sept. 2008, they have not release a specific time other than this. The new phone is NOT suppose to be much different than the current, just with a few added features and fixes (kind of like windows does with their operating system - 2000, XP...etc).
So if you have one already, it won't be much of a difference usability and look wise, but with some added features.

NOT supposed to be much different? IT WILL WORK ON 3G!!!! That is the biggest complaint about the iPhone (other than crappy call sound). You are downplaying the way Apple and AT&T are screwing their customers. I guarantee that they were able to go on the 3G network previously and if they would have waited a few extra months to release they could have....but instead they played the "Apple customers are lemmings" card and look how well it worked. Suckers!

I've had an iPhone from day 1.

I will buy iPhone 2 on day 1. Apple products hold decent resell value, so get a couple hundred for the old one, buy the new one for a couple hundred. Not bad.

Whatever helps you sleep at night and feel justified for purchasing "1st gen." electronics...especially the iPhone. You should fell slighted, you should feel disappointed...you should wonder why Apple screws it's customers by putting out a device they KNOW is lame. They know it...they know it they know it. They wanted it to stay locked so more people wouldn't buy it and go ....."hey, this is pretty lame." It's a web browsing.........uh that's it. Don't get all hyped up about the music player either because WHO CARES? I have pTunes or whatever the free mp3 player is with my Treo and it plays music.......what else does it need? But I can use MMS, I can view ALL of the web pages I need to, the camera works fine (and sends the pics to), email sync'd to work as well as MS office and Adobe viewer. The call quality is MUCH better than the iPhone as well and since Phone is 83.3333333% of the name of the device you would think it would have better call quality. It's the iPod with a $hit phone attached. But have fun reselling it against the supposed better iPhone 2.

See I do'nt understand why people don't realize different things work for differnet people.

Your solution is obviously making you very happy and the iPhone evidently wouldn't.

However, the iPhone is working beautifully for me, and I love it. I have used upper end Nokias and Blackberries, and it has been been the best solution for "me."

There are many others who obviously agree with me, as there are others who agree with you.

I just don't see why people have to think the iPhone is junk, or bad for everyone. My mother for example would never figure out a smartphone, but she loves the iPhone, yet people have to give her a hard time. Today she was at Starbucks and the employee asked her what she got for Christmas, she said iPhone, and he said he heard those sucked.

How people can be so rude when it comes to electronic "choices," is beyond me.

Different solutions really are right for different people, and that is a good thing.

I will try to be nicer with this post as I have been warned . You are right that different phones work well with different people. And I should have made some changes in my post but to me.....and a few others, to have to pay $400+ dollars for a "revolutionary new phone" that is just an iPod with a sub par phone and have people react like it is the phone Jesus would have used should be a HUGE red flag that Apple is counting on people to purchase based upon the "i" instead of the product itself. 3G is the fastest way to connect to the internet from your phone on AT&T....everyone knows that. Are you trying to tell me that Apple could not get their phone to work on 3G.....did they have to get the phone to market that fast? Does any of what they did seem like it was best for their customers? To me.....no. You cannot tell me that Apple does not have the technology to make a 3G iPhone......they will have it out next year and I guarantee they had the technology ready when the first iPhone came out. But they saw the $$$ of selling the lower based model and then selling the better one a year later. My biggest gripe is too many people are becoming Apple lemmings and it's ridiculous that more people are not up in arms about this. I am a huge proponent of creating services and products based on customer needs and market needs....not profit. You do the first two the third will come. Just my thoughts.
