ok if you haven't found it yet or not here it is:

Basically, as most of you know... you can place and receive calls... and the same with txts... BUT no MMS or internet... well the solution is simple...

1. Power off iphone
2. insert ST sim
3. Power on iphone
4. Option A: Manually edit your APN info using the iphone config utility OPTION B: download the premade ST carrier file. I did option B and everything works great.

Premade carrier file: StraightTalk.mobileconfig

What I did to get the carrier file on the iphone was just simply emailed the above link to myself... checked my email on my iphone using Wifi and clicked start download. It asks if you wanna install the file... simply select install. Viola!! done!

I'll take credit for distributing VERY hard to find information... but not for the info itself.... yeah i thought my MMS went through but come to find out it didn't... I looked at the carrier file and everything seems to be ok... not sure what the deal is... I'm going to do some digging and experimenting... maybe I can get it working...

Hi guys, what phones did you buy to make it work with Iphone? i dont care about mms but as long as i can get calls/textz/3g data working I am sooooooooooo ready to move to straight talk

i bought the Nokia E71 $199.00 at wally world . the initial cost is kinda high but cheaper in the long run. i dont know if any straight talk sim card will work but i will try and find out . also if you need to send mms picture messages you can download the text now app from app store for free

As far as I know and from what I heard... the E71 is the only phone that will work... my significant other has a phone that is "branded" for tracphone on the ST network... I popped that sim into my E71 and it gives an "invalid sim" error. So from my testing and from what I've read... the E71 is the only sim that will work in the iphone... I jailbroke my iPhone and used an app that lets you edit your carrier info... I put in all the correct MMS settings but it kept changing them back to default... there are many online resources that you can use depending on your phone's OS version that lets you build custom carrier bundles.... i'm running 4.1 and all the generators I've came across are for the 3.x OS versions... plus it asks for all kinds of info i'm not sure of.... i'll continue to dig and research this topic and keep everyone updated.

UPDATE

I have the MMS working on my iphone now...

You will need to go into cydia and search for "SUPREME PREFERENCES"

Open winterboard and enable supreme pref. and respring

Goto settings>supreme preferences>applications>phone and enable "Cellular Data Editing" back out to main settings page and click on general>network>cellular data

You will need to input these settings for mms

APN: att.mvno
proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com:80
mmsc: http://mmsc.cingular.com

and that should do it...

i did a test... i sent a pic from my work email to my iphone and then sent a pic to my work email... so far no errors or etc

how can i get a sim card with straight talk i got the samsung r451c does it have one

as far as i know its a CDMA phone. About the only thing you can do with that phone is "unlock" it to use on like the verizon network.

I am an old guy, so I need help, what is "cydia" where do I find it on my iPhone or on the net,I looked over everything in my iphone settings and cannot find cydia or "SUPREME PREFERENCES",I have the e71, Ilike it but I like the net on my iphone and mms would be better, also how do I unlock the iphone? sorry about all the questions but I am not a tech person.

Revbig: Think of Cydia as the App Store for jailbroken iPhones. You can get all kinds of things for the iPhone. Wallpapers, themes, ringtones, cool apps and MUCH MUCH more.

Supreme Preferences requires some work. Your phone has to be jailbroke... you'll need winterboard from Cydia... then Supreme Preferences from Cydia. You'll then need to open winterboard to enable supreme preferences. After all the previous, you will need to "respring" the phone. Respringing is like rebooting the GUI and etc. Not exactly sure what all takes place during that process...


So, what I'd suggest doing:

1. Find out your iOS version...
2. Find the appropriate jailbreak software. (Cydia will be installed during jailbreak process) I.E. blackra1n, redsn0w and etc
3. Download winterboard and supreme preferences
4. Enable supreme preferences

Everything else should be in previous posts on what to do next. It takes a little bit of time and patience... If you choose to jailbreak your phone and what some ideas on what cydia apps... I use only a couple....

backgrounder: incase i want to leave a program running in the background
sbsettings: i love how i can access wifi, bluetooth, 3G and etc toggles without going into the settings page
winterboard: adds themes and etc
iblacklist: can filter txt, mms and calls coming in my phone

theres a a couple more but i like those a lot.... Also, I use an 8gig iPhone 3G... so remember you can overload that poor thing... lol

It would be interesting if the user who bought the Samsung t255 & the user who purchased the Nokia e71 posted photos of the sim cards. So we could figure out of there is a difference between the actual cards.

1. yes 4.2.1 can be jailbroken
2. this can be a flood of foreign information for people to try to grasp... it was for me back in my starting out days...
3. I have no problem doing this for you... I just recommend sending insured of course. I will PM through this forum my email address along with physical address. If you could send me the following either to my email or in a PM through the forum i'd appreciate it.

-iPhone Size I.E. 8g, 16gig or etc
-iPhone Model Number (Located on back of phone)
-IMIE or serial number

I want all this so i can create a document stating you are sending me this exact phone to do the certain actions requested and etc. This way theres accountability for the phone. Just to cover both our butts...

and some people are worried that jailbreaking a phone is illegal... well a law was passed stating that it isn't... so if you had any doubts if it was or not...
