Hello and thanks to all who take the time to read this post.

I'm spanking new to cell phone forums and am not sure where to start my search.

Friends are asking me to see how and if they can use their (various) phones and other devices to connect their (various) computers to the internet and I'm not sure in which forum to post my questions.

    Thanks,

    Phil

You will need the DUN bluetooth (BT) profile on your phone, a USB BT adapter for the PC, and an unlimited data plan from your carrier.
See my Bluetooth stickies for more info.

depends on the phone make and model
since I see your carrier is T-Mobile, here is the basics
    1. add total internet to your account
    2. setup dial up networking, and use the following info
    username and pwd: blank
    phone number: *99#
modem: your phone connects to your computer (if it connects through USB cable, you need modem driver; if it connects through bt, you have your bt adaptor installed and paired with the phone)
