About two years ago, I got my first Mac. Up to that point, I had only ever had Windows computers, and each of them without fail had started breaking down in the first year to year and a half. I'm a programmer, so computers don't last very long with me. It would always crash for me, also.

However, about two years ago, I started hearing about the accessibility features on Apple products, including the iPhone and the Mac. I'm completely blind, so this is very important for me.

So I got a Mac, and now will never look back. Apple products are so much more stable, and even with a small MacBook Air, it does everything i need it to do.

At this very moment I have 10 applications open. I have 19 windows open in Safari, and who knows how many tabs in each of those windows. And, my MacBook Air isn't even phased.

What is your experience with the Mac? Do you prefer Mac or Windows?

I prefer Windows. I used a Mac computer and it was decent but I'm more used to Windows computers.

I have an Acer laptop that is running Windows 7 and an HP desktop that is also running Windows 7. They both work good.

I also prefer Android to the iPhone, although I haven't had much experience with the iPhone, I like how there is a better selection of Android phones and how there seem to be more features coming out more quickly than with the iPhone.

I don't have much experience with the Windows Phone, although I would like to try it out.

So, overall I like Windows, except for Android in regards to cell phones.

    Re: Loving My Mac

I'm a computer repair technician, but also have my degree in Network Administration.
I've spent a fair amount of time with both. I like Windows more, but I can't say it isn't because Windows is what I have used all of my life.

    General Likes and Dislikes:

I never cared for the Mac interface. I never liked how the Apple menu is structured, I don't like how the quick buttons (Minimize, Expand, or whatever the other one does) operate. I don't like the dock. I never cared for the software that comes with it for free. I don't like its limited corporate networking abilities (it has always been behind Windows). I don't like how much they charge, despite that currently the hardware is literally the same as a PC's hardware. I like having a "Start" menu to find most of my programs, although Spotlight has addressed this.

I've always had a hard time coming up with likes of Macs...
I kind of like how programs install through image files rather than using a traditional Installer like Windows. I enjoy that it does not have a central registry (not in the same sense as Windows). I enjoy that programs are found in the Applications folder, which is easily accessible. I like that the file system defragments on the fly.

    What I like about Windows:
Developers, Developers, Developers. (Haha, that was a poor joke...)
Software support. Find me a program that is widely used that DOESN'T support Windows.
Better free software selection. The biggest open source programs run on Windows, Linux, and Mac, but quite a number are still just limited to Windows.
I enjoy the interface. I have found it to be more intuitive as the years have passed (especially Windows 7).

    What I don't like:
    Messy registries
How many programs that run for Windows add themselves to the startup
    Defragmentation requires user setup
Becomes slow easier (mostly because of all the programs people are able to stick on it)
